HISTORY

Founded in 2004, Thick As Thieves is a musical collective, recording enclave, literary society, and religious sect. The band utilizes the time-honored medium of rock and roll to capture and recreate the formative moments of modern life. These experiences are cataloged in songs and then reintroduced to the cosmic continuum via live performances throughout the Northeast region of America.

The story begins in the wide expanse of the American Midwest. Guitarist Aaron Benson and bassist Kellen Kleinfelter grew up in Michigan together and met future drummer Mike Cotter in the dining coach of an eastbound train. Finding a common musical vein, the trio began rehearsing together after settling in their new hometown of Boston. The addition of guitarist Tyler Littwin completed the lineup and the group released their first album in 2006. A subsequent year of touring found the band bringing its energetic (and often destructive) live show to cities and towns across the Northeast. Exhausted and eager to work on new material, the quartet returned to the safer confines of the studio.

Their second album was a diverse collection of songs that distilled the best of classic, indie, and punk rock. Manic shows ensued. A year later the band released a dense 4-song EP then gradually retreated (once again) to the insular world of writing & recording. A full-length is due within the year.
